Yes! After watching a few more tutorials, I learned how to “hack” the YUDU. I searched for “applying liquid emulsion to YUDU screen”. I can’t tell you how many stories I found from people having the very same issue with the emulsion sheets.
Someone had to figure this out while I was stowing away my YUDU for 3 years! So, I started searching the net. Since the emulsion sheets are kinda expensive, I got frustrated pretty fast wasting them. Per the troubleshooting guide, this supposedly means that I did not allow the screen and emulsion sheet dry long enough but to me, 3 hours of drying under a fan was dry! Julie ripped the emulsion away from the screen 4 times. Cindy removed the plastic backing so effortlessly. I tried the YUDU and the non-yudu brand of capillary emulsion sheets. Even though I watched my girl Cindy from the YUDU website tutorial about 8000 times easily prep her screen, it was impossible to replicate. Turns out, this was a little more challenging than I thought. YUDU provides the drying, burning, printing all-in-one unit with all the supplies needed to screen print right out of the box. It has sat in the unopened box until this morning when somehow I felt like I could take on the challenge of burning and printing from my homemade screens. I very excitedly purchased the YUDU almost 3 years ago…a to-me, from-me b-day gift, of course. …a whole lotta patience (the second time was for extra emphasis!) …the Speedball Ultimate Screen Printing Kit …instructions, books, You-Tube and numerous other online videos But, what does it take to make your own screens at home? The act of printing is creative, relaxing and fun. So by now you know that I dabble in screen printing. If you are patient, then YOU can YUDU too!
